Benefits of Early Childhood Education at ABC Great Beginnings

There are many, many benefits to providing your child with an early education. With the number of children in South Ogden, it’s important to give your child a leg-up and make sure they receive the education they deserve. Some of the benefits of an early education are:

  • Children with an early education are more prepared for school, which makes them more successful. They are more prepared to experience a classroom and have experienced a schedule similar to school. They are ready and eager to learn because they are more comfortable in the environment.
  • A study in Chicago found that PreK programs reduce future crime. This study followed children from PreK through adulthood and found that after 19 years, those with more education were less likely to commit a crime than those who did not receive the same level of education.
  • Special needs can be found early. Students may have needs when it comes to education, and these needs can be found early when a child is in an early education program. Students who have their needs identified early are able to seek help early, and eventually mainstream earlier than other special needs students.
  • Children with early education score higher in both math and reading than students with no early education. They score higher on standardized testing as well.
  • Children enrolled in early education learn how to interact appropriately with their peers. A big part of education is learning how to socialize, and children enrolled in toddler care are given this opportunity at an early age. This is when children learn to share, problem-solve, learn and play well together.
  • Children in early education also learn how to interact with adults. It’s important that children learn how to interact with adults, and at our toddler care center children will learn what it’s like to have other adults as positive authority figures and mentors.
